Hey guys –

We’re proud to announce that we’ve finally finished skinning, and have launched puurple.com. Don’t ask me how we came up with the name – because we don’t know!

This is a pligg site, which is designed with similar functionality to digg.com. You can go to the site to find real estate related articles, and to vote up & down the articles/blogs that you find. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Great idea Eric…there is really nothing out there like that, that I know of anyway. Should be a big hit.

Thanks Mike! We decided to do it after seeing so many friends/colleagues get slammed on sites like digg. Hopefully, we’ll be able to see some really great articles & news promoted on this site.

Yeah, Digg can be pretty brutal for real estate agents. I’ll have to find the time to write more posts so I can submit them. Look for me there over the next few days.

Hey Eric, I have not had time to write anything new for this puurple site yet. I think it is a great idea though, as you know I am one that has been slammed by Digg for posting real estate related articles. Lol, your advice to me about Digg is still on my mind.

  5. Eric Bramlett (249 comments.) Says:

You don’t need to write anything new, Dennis. It’s social bookmarking – you can submit what you already have.

  6. Dennis Pease (15 comments.) Says:

Great, I will post some of my articles that bombed on that other site :) Hopefully this will really take off.
    Thanks Eric.

    Eric,

I was wondering when someone would do this. Great idea, great looking site, and good luck. Real Estate needs something like this. I even signed up and put an article up just to test it out. Everything looked and worked great.

  8. Eric Bramlett (249 comments.) Says:

Thanks Sam! And thanks for participating!

    Hi Eric!

The site looks cool. I haven’t used digg much myself, but have set aside time this year to make more time for social bookmarking, etc.

I am excited to watch this grow. Great idea!

Eric – when you say that “we” launched Puurple, who is we? Also, love the Spam post. I thin we all get that kind of garbage. That is why we moderate comments.

  12. James Boyer (14 comments.) Says:

I almost forgot about this one. Had read about it over at REW then I noticed it here so now I am off to check it out. Social bookmarking for the real estate community, interesting.

  13. Jim Olenbush (14 comments.) Says:

When Eric says “we” he is referring to the original Eric and to his clones that do his linking, blogging, and article writing.

i haven’t used a digg before…(im probably a dork) but, i have visited the site and its cool and user friendly. and cute name too. who thought about it?

I don’t really understand Digg but I also signed up for puurple and I will try to post relevant articles. I guess the idea that other real estate people can better judge if something is a good article or not?

  16. Eric Bramlett (249 comments.) Says:

    Carolyn –

The idea is to find relevant, good news & articles. It’s very democratic in that users see the stories & vote them up or down – the articles that are voted up, make it to the first page. You can go to “upcoming stories” to see what’s recently been submitted.

Good luck with this. We all know that Digg was not a great site for Real Estate. Hopefully this wil take off for you.

Thanks for sharing. I have been looking for a real estate social bookmarking site for a long time. Finally, I found one!
