About 20 miles from Austin Texas, you will find the city of Lakeway . Situated in picturesque west Travis County , Lakeway is right on Lake Travis . Golf and Tennis in Lakeway

Lakeway offers some of the most unique and impressive golf opportunities in the nation. The city is home to four 18-hole golf courses. In the city of Lakeway , residents can find Yaupon, which features grills, pro shops, and stunning views of Texas hill country and the lake. The city of Lakeway is also home to the Live Oak golf course, which has a pro shop and grill. Here, golfers will enjoy playing surrounded by majestic oak trees. For something even more unique, golfers may want to play at the Hills Country Club, designed by Jack Nicklaus. The Hills of Lakeway golf course is famous in the region for its 15-foot natural waterfall. Be sure to take a look – it can be found at the seventh hole. The Hills clubhouse offers golfers a locker room, pro shop, grill, and a comfortable dining room. Lakeview club members also can enjoy visiting the most advanced golf instruction center in the nation at The Academy of Golf in the Hills. With a par 3, 4 and 5, it is perfect for brushing up on the game; this is the perfect place to fall in love with the green all over again. Residents of Lakeway can now also enjoy the new Flintrock Falls golf course.

Tennis players will certainly not be disappointed with the city. Lakeway’s The World of Tennis was recognized by World Tennis magazine as one of the top 25 tennis facilities on earth. Tennis Magazine awarded The World of Tennis with the title of one of the 50 greatest facilities in the country. The World of Tennis boasts 2 indoor courts and 26 courts overall. The World of Tennis is not the only tennis facility in town. Near the Live Oak clubhouse, you will find The Lakeway Tennis Center, with six tennis courts.

It is mandatory for everyone who owns property in the Hills to retain at least a social membership, at minimum, in the Hills club. However, a full or tennis membership gives residents additional benefits. Memberships can be upgraded at any time. The Lakeway Marina

The biggest full-service marina on Lake Travis can be found in Lakeway. The Lakeway Marina is home to more than 350 covered boat slips, fuel service, and a parts department. Conveniently situated near the Lakeway Resort and Conference Center , the marina offers parasailing tours, fishing guides, and boat rentals. Whether you want a boat for fishing, skiing, or just relaxing, daily rentals of a number of boats, including pontoon, pedal and runabouts are available at the marina. Parks in Lakeway

If you love green spaces, you will be pleased to know that there are three parks in Lakeway, overseen by The Lakeway Parks and Recreation Department. Right on Lake Travis you will find The Lakeway City Park. This 64-acre green area is perfect for recreation. The park boasts basketball courts, picnic areas, many trees, playground equipment, lake views, hiking trails, and much more. It is home to a number of community events, such as Parks Day, fishing derbies, the Easter egg hunt, Breakfast with Santa, Halloween Parade, and yearly 4th of July celebrations. The park is an excellent place for relaxing in solitude or enjoying the company of others.

Lakeway is also home to two greenbelts which run along creeks in the area. The greenbelts are fully mapped and feature many miles of walking trails in pristine nature. If you love bird watching or outdoor exercise, the greenbelts are sure to delight.

Lakeway’s newest park is The Canyonlands. This 20 acre park features a scenic canyon which affords amazing views. The Canyon reaches from Rough Hollow Cove to the west of the city. Lakeway is also home to Porpoise Park , a small and sunny park right in the middle of the city.
