Old Enfield Real Estate

The tree-lined streets and colonial-style homes of Old Enfield take residents back to an earlier time. Before the oil boom or high-tech explosion, Old Enfield had established itself as one of the most renowned neighborhoods in Austin.
And nothing has changed.

Located just west of Lamar Boulevard and between Enfield Road and 24th Street, Old Enfield has long been a haven for Austin residents seeking a tranquil spot in the heart of the city. The neighborhood offers a diverse mix of urban bungalows and exquisite mansions, but all the houses fit into the well-maintained feel of the community. Many of the neighborhood’s most majestic houses date back almost a century, and the newer homes were built in the 1950s. In addition, several tidy apartment complexes and condos are along Enfield Road.

Old Enfield has long been home to some of Austin’s most prominent and successful citizens, and any evening walk through the quiet streets might lead to a surprising meeting or two.

Residents of Old Enfield rarely have to leave their neighborhood to enjoy the mild Austin weather. Sprawling Pease Park forms the eastern border of the neighborhood and provides locals with a variety of outdoor activities. Joggers and cyclists can follow a trail that borders Shoal Creek while enjoying views of the State Capitol. Disc golfers traverse one of the oldest courses in Texas. Pet-lovers cite the open-leash area, and sunbathers and kite flyers find plenty of room in the park’s open fields.
The nearby Caswell Tennis Center and West Austin Park also have plenty of recreational opportunities for locals.

Old Enfield residents can also stroll to plenty of shops and restaurants. Bustling Lamar Boulevard boasts a diverse mix of eateries and stores, and the diverse neighborhoods surrounding the University of Texas are just blocks away.
