  • Interesting news…and here I thought Seattle (my hometown) would capture the first place of honor. Way to go Austin! Seattle’s population is growing faster that any other metro area, which has got to count for something.

  • Nice ! Go Austin

  • Wow that is some serious growth. 32% in just 5 years? I can’t even imagine that. Hope you sell 32% more homes in that time too!

  • It is interesting that Austin continues this amazing rate of growth in real estate and in general. I would like know how the job market and other key factors are beating the nation as a whole to support this growth. Should be our model for the nation.

  • I just saw this article online and was not surprised. I often visit Austin and see the tremendous growth potential.

  • Good news, and Austin did not take a big hit in home prices like some other areas of the country. Nice stable market. It has the four things I look for in solid real estate market: Major University, State Capitol, Hi-tech business corridor, a “cultural trademark”.

  • Texas as a whole is has always amazed me for its robustness. I used to live in dallas and have considered returning but your post is intrigues me to look into austin. -will

  • I’ve lived in the Austin area for over 20 years now and it has exploaded really over the last 10 to 15 years. I lived in Round Rock before Dell moved its world headquarters in and since then the city had really trippled in size.

  • I understand Austin is to possibly double in size by 2028. Wow! Could that really happen? I wonder what the city council would have to say about that?

  • Wow. Austin is a great city and with all the big tech companies, it’s primed to expand. 32% growth in 5 years for a major city is unbelievable growth.
